Employee well-being
- BUPA healthcare Cover is provided to all employees and is applicable from the commencement date of employment.
- Sickness A generous sick pay scheme is available to all employees from the commencement date of their employment.
- Employee Assistance Programme All employees and their families have free access to an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) to help them better manage issues and concerns that impact upon their general well-being.
- Permanent health insurance Any Pera Training employee deemed unfit to return to work can join our permanent health insurance scheme. This entitles them to a % of their salary until pensionable age.
- Annual leave The annual holiday entitlement for all staff is 25 days, pro-rata in the case of part-time workers. This is in addition to the 8 statutory bank holidays.
Stakeholder pension scheme
All UK staff over the age of 18 are entitled to join the Pera Group Stakeholder Pension Scheme from the commencement date of their employment.
- Life insurance the beneficiary of an employee will receive four times the employee's salary.
- On-site gym facilities a well-stocked gym facility and showers are available free of charge at our Head Office in Melton Mowbray.
Family friendly
- Childcare voucher scheme All parents are entitled to join the childcare voucher scheme, offering savings of up to £933 per annum on the cost of childcare.
- Maternity/paternity leave Pera Training employees taking maternity and paternity leave benefit from the new policies that came into effect on September 1st 2007. New fathers with two years' service at the company receive full pay throughout the stated two week period, whereas expectant mothers enjoy full pay for the first 12 weeks' leave, followed by 27 weeks at the statutory rate. This also applies for employees that have served at least two years with the company.
- We also offer half pay to women who choose to take advantage of Keeping in Touch Days, a policy introduced by Government on April 1st 2007 that enables women to work up to 10 days during maternity leave without losing statutory pay.
Flexible working
As part of our commitment to creating a better working environment for all Pera staff, Pera Training has a flexible working policy. The scheme allows employees greater flexibility for domestic responsibilities and leisure engagements and should therefore make a strong contribution towards achieving and maintaining a positive work/life balance.
Recognition
We recognise and value the hard work, commitment and achievements of all our employees. There are two formal schemes to recognise those who have made exceptional contributions and one scheme which awards people for their long term commitment to the company:
- The Bravo awards are for those employees who have made an outstanding one-off or short-term contribution that embraces one or more of the four pillars of Pera. They are awarded at Departmental level.
- The Value Champion awards are for those employees who have made an outstanding sustained contribution over the course of the year. They are aligned with the Company values and are awarded by the CEO at our end of year awards' ceremony.
- The Long Service awards recognise employees who have completed 5, 10, 20, 30 and 40 years' service.
